Hijacking Curriculum for Political Purposes

 Last month the Texas Board of Education approved a Social Studies curriculum that skews history far to the right, "stressing the superiority of American capitalism, questioning the Founding Fathers’ commitment to a purely secular government and presenting Republican political philosophies in a more positive light." Get this: many on the board aren't educators, and no economists, historians, or sociologists were consulted on the curricular changes. Check out the full story from the New York Times.
